The Lantern & Stag
Warm light, a shared table, six known rooms—and one that may have been waiting.
A crossroads in a wooded river valley
They all pass through Meddel Vale: a place to rest, share a meal, follow an old road, and discover what has been waiting just beyond the lantern light.
Between destinations
Meddel Vale stands where four roads meet beside the River Meddel. Coaches arrive from the rain. Market stalls fill the square. At the Lantern & Stag, Rowan Thatch keeps supper warm and a chair ready for whoever comes through the door.
This is a world of ordinary lives touched by gentle mysteries: an old sign pointing toward a road no map remembers, a bell that rings in an empty chapel, a name written in a ledger before its traveler arrives.
The Meddel Vale Chronicles · A Lantern & Stag story
On a rain-dark evening, Lysa reaches the Lantern & Stag carrying a little wooden box from a woman who vanished on Stone Bridge. Inside is an old key—and a note for Rowan, the innkeeper. The ledger says his mother once paid for a seventh room. Everyone knows the inn has only six.
